Filled With All We Need

The encouragement from David, author of this psalm, is to stay strong. However,

each one of us fears at times that we cannot live up to our calling. It is necessary to

keep moving forward, step by step, sign by sign and find our way, the Way. God equips

those who trust Him. Our journey as a caretaker can cause us to lose heart or for that

matter any journey, we are on with hardship or distress.

Caregiving for a loved one is a demanding, consuming, full-time job. Most full-

time workers get at least a two-week vacation, shouldn’t you? Realistically, most times

this is not possible and so the importance of being gentle with yourself and finding ways

to give yourself a break is vital. Taking heart can mean to be courageous or hopeful and

embrace a mindset that fosters resilience. If our thoughts are negative, it makes it

harder to remain hopeful. God blesses us with everything we need and His grace is

abundant.

We are encouraged by Richard Roh’s 12/26/25 meditation, “Allowing God’s grace

to heal us, hold us, and empower us for life; it means entering into darkness, the

unknowns of our lives and learning to trust the darkness, for the tenderness of Divine

love is already there; it means being willing to surrender all that we have for all that we

can become in God’s love and finally it means to let God’s love heal us of the opposing

tensions within us.”

The question for all of us is, “What do I need God’s power to change in my life?”

This is not about making a New Year resolution. It is about seeking to hear God’s voice

through Scripture, creation and one another to help guide and hold us. With the Lord,

we can do all things. How do you answer this question? As many of us are reading this

blog, I believe there are numerous answers. First, is believing that we are filled with all

we need to live the life God has blessed us with. Can we make a conscious effort to

draw upon our inner strength to let go of despair and move forward with renewed vigor?

God’s grace is always a step ahead of us. Grace showers us with things we do

not deserve and always works for our good. It does not mean we won’t have times of

suffering and as it says in Romans 8:28, “We know that all things work for good for

those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” It is always about

trusting that God knows what is the better for us. This next Scripture is about both

resilience and hope, Romans 12:12, “Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in

prayer.”

Jesus is waiting for us to open our lives and let Him in. Revelation 3:20, “Behold,

I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will enter

His house and dine with Him, and he with Me.” May this year, be one of listening and

openness!
